I set up on day two near the red Adirondack chairs on the Newburyport waterfront in the same spot as the day before. I also noticed an older couple sitting in their car as I set up - I was a little self conscious but I just continued where I left off.
After about thirty minutes they started their car and moved one spot down - I turned and smiled not knowing what to think. He seemed aggravated, I went over and he said, “We didn’t come down here to watch you paint!”
I was a bit shocked and waited a number of minutes and went over and explained that I needed to be in the same spot as I was in the previous night to continue the painting of the red chairs etc. and apologized if I was in their view. He said something dismissive. They left a half hour later.
My lesson is that not everyone wants to watch an artist work at their easel! Nevertheless, I finished it on the third outing which was as beautiful and peaceful as one can imagine! Unframed
