Irish Homestead Watercolor

This is the Burke Homestead in County Cork, Ireland — a place connected to my own family history.

As part of my Where Your Story Began project, I wanted to bring this ancestral place to life in watercolor. The painting is based on the Burke Homestead that Helen and Alexander Burke encountered while traveling through County Cork toward Gougane Barra.

For me, painting a place like this is about more than architecture or landscape. It is about connection — to family, to memory, and to the places where our stories began.

I’m now exploring the idea of creating original watercolors of ancestral homes and family places for others.
