The floral scene is set up in my studio. I’ll speed it up so that it doesn’t get too boring. I hope you enjoy it. It is Framed!
I start by sketching out where it’s going to be placed on the canvas paying attention basically to lights and darks not color yet. Once I get the initial drawing down, I will start to block in some of the values and eventually some of the colors. I’ll let it sit for a while and then I’ll go back in and refine some of the areas without making it too exact and keeping it hopefully expressive and painterly. I’m going to try to do this a number of times in the weeks ahead.
