I felt it would be meaningful to paint a religious scene during this holiday season. Growing up I attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar school in Newburyport, and then, over many years, attending the services at the I.C. church next to the school. I wanted to express my feelings about the interior of that church and the spirituality of the “place”- I hope these feelings come through the painting. Like most things spiritual, words fail us….
